When trying to log in using Single Sign-On (SSO), I am getting the error: Authentication Error - Authentication Failed.

The error log shows Failed to get Name id. Stack: ariba.util.saml.SAMLException: can not find NameId.

The Site Profile certificate matches the certificate in the customer's SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) response.

Ensure that you are sending a <NameID></NameID> entry in the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) response subject, and not an <Attribute></Attribute> entry.

This is caused by an invalid SAML response after SAP Ariba requests NameID information. When Ariba sends a SAML request for authentication, although a NameID appears in the response, it is sent as an attribute instead of an object.
