Why did I receive the message Could not process message. You must be an active user to have approve permission?
Question

Why did I receive a response email with below error after trying to approve/deny a task via e-mail? Error:

Could not process message. You must be an active user to have approve permission

Answer

The email approval above appears when the Active Approver of the task using email is currently inactive in the system.

In order to resolve the issue, please follow either of the below two solutions:

  1. Under User Manager, search for the user who is the approver and activate the account.
  2. If the user has left the company, use the Replace User in All Projects feature so that the inactive user is replaced by an active user in the approval task
