Restrictions when linking Master and Sub Agreements
Restrictions when linking two workspaces to have a parent/child relationship.
If you plan to link contract workspaces by making them master and sub-agreements, keep the following restrictions in mind:
• A master agreement and its sub-agreements must be of the same contract workspace type (sales contract workspace or procurement contract workspace).
• When you create a sub-agreement from a master agreement or link a sub-agreement to a master agreement, the master agreement cannot be expired.
• If your Ariba Spend Management solution includes the Ariba Contract Compliance feature and you want to associate a sub-agreement with a procurement contract workspace, the master agreement must be published so that it is identical in both Contract Compliance and Ariba Contract Management before you associate the sub-agreement with it. This restriction does not apply to sales contract workspaces.
• You must specify the expiration date for a sub-agreement to be before or on the same day as the expiration date for the master agreement. *
• If either a sales or procurement contract workspace includes a Contract Terms document, you must specify a valid supplier or customer and publish the master agreement before you create a sub-agreement for it.
• If the sub-agreement has a contract terms document, the associated master agreement must also have a Contract Terms document.
Additional Information
This information can be found in the How to Create or Link Master and Sub agreements guide.
The parameter, Application.ACM.AllowFutureExpirationDateInSubAgreements specifies whether or not to allow publishing a sub-agreement whose expiration date is later than its master agreement expiration date. The default value of the parameter is False. This parameter should be enabled from Intelligent Configuration Manager (ICM). For configuration assistance, if a parameter exists in ICM then submitting a request to SAP Ariba Support is no longer required, as ICM is a self-service tool. For information on ICM see the Intelligent Configuration Manager documentation.Strategic Contracts
