Error: response=Bad Gateway
Issue

Data Transfer Tool (DTT) fails With Error response=Bad Gateway

Resolution

This is a temporary issue, and if the DTT is run again after 10 to 15 minutes the DTT will complete successfully the second time.

Cause

The 502 Bad Gateway error is a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) status code means that one server received an invalid response from another server that it was accessing while attempting to load the web page or fill another request by the browser. This can happen when the connection becomes stale on one server and the other server keeps trying to use it, producing this error.

Additional Information

The following HyperText Markup Language (HTML) message also appears in the log file:

"Data transfer temporary failure, will retry request at the next invocation" response=Bad Gateway.

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>502 Bad Gateway</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Bad Gateway</h1>
<p>The proxy server received an invalid
response from an upstream server.<br />
</p>
</body></html>

This error in the DTT log is actually response and not error.
