How do I create, edit, and delete commodity codes?

You can update commodity codes in two ways:

• Manually within the Commodity Code Manager workspace
• Data import task within the Site Manager workspace

To update commodities manually (useful for a small number of changes):

1. On the dashboard, click Manage > Core Administration
2. Choose Commodity Code Manager > Commodity Codes
3. Click Create New to add a new commodity code, or search for an existing commodity code, and use the Actions menu to Edit or Deactivate a commodity code
4. If adding or editing a code, update the domain, ID, name, and parent commodity code information
5. Click Save.

To update commodities using data import (useful for larger number of changes):

1. To export an existing copy of commodity codes, follow the steps in the KBA How do I export all active commodity codes?, if necessary*
2. Add, edit, or remove commodities from your file
3. Access the Site Manager > Data Import/Export section
4. Click Import next to the Import Commodity Codes task
5. Browse to select your updated file
6. Click Run, then OK

* If you only want to add new commodity codes to the site and not update any existing, just have the new commodity codes CSV file with proper headers and import this file using option Load during the import task.
