How do I create a news portlet and push it to all users' dashboards?

You can add a news portlet to the Home (or other) tab of a particular dashboard template and assign this template to a group of users.

To create a dashboard template:

1. Navigate to Manage > Core Administration (Manage > Administration for SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management Solutions).
2. Access the Dashboard Manager > Dashboard Templates section.
3. Click New Template.

This allows you to modify the new template's layout.

To add a news portlet:

1. On the dashboard, click the dashboard configuration icon () and select Add Content.
2. Drag and drop News to the desired location on the page.
3. Click Done in the Add Content pull-down menu.
4. Click in the upper right corner of the News portlet, and select Edit Content.
5. Add static news text, or insert the URL for a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) news feed.
6. Click Done.

To publish the dashboard template:

1. Click Return to Administration page.
2. Add a name to your template.
3. Assign the template to a group (this is how it is assigned to users).
4. Click Publish.

Now, all new users assigned to this dashboard template will see the updated news section.

These steps do not automatically push the news portlet to your existing users who are not using their default dashboard. These users must click the dashboard configuration icon () in the upper right corner and select Revert Tab Set to Default Settings to see the changes.
