How do I import or update translations for commodity codes?
Users with access to Manage > Administration > Site Manager > Data Import/Export can use the task Import Translations for Commodity Codes to create/update translations for commodity codes.
Please use the following steps to create/update the translations:
- Create a Comma Separated value (CSV) file with the following columns: Domain, UniqueName, Name, and Language
- You can find the UniqueName (code) and Domain values by running the task Export Commodity Codes (CSV) from Export tab
- Enter the Domain value (for example, United Nations Standard Products and Services Code® (unspsc))
- Enter the UniqueName of the commodity under it
- Enter the translation for the commodity code under the Name column
- Enter the supported language of the translation under the Language column
With the file fulfilled, follow the steps below to update the translations:
- Click Manage > Administration > Site Manager > Data Import/Export
- Search for the task Import Translations for Commodity Codes > click Import
- For the Languages drop-down, choose the desired language for the translation that you entered under Language column of your file
- Upload the CSV file and click Run
- IMPORTANT: If your realm is suite integrated, you should update the commodity translations on downstream side (Core Administration), so that will be pushed to Sourcing. Otherwise, downstream will keep pushing the old translations to upstream and overwrite the new translations.
- If you site has a parent-child structure on downstream, the import needs to be done in the Parent realm.
- Exporting translations is not part of SAP Ariba's current product design.
