How can I save a report in a Public Folder and limit its access to specific users or groups?

Answer

To save a report in a Public Folder:

  1. Run the report and then click Save or Save As.
  2. Enter a name in the Report Name field.
  3. If you are saving changes to a report on your dashboard, click Update dashboard to use this version.
  4. Click Current Project and select the appropriate folder.
  5. Click Public Reports.
  6. Click Save.

You can then access the Public Report and limit its access controls using the following steps:

  1. Click Manage > Public Reports
  2. Locate the desired report in the Public Reports Folder or subfolder.
  3. Click Actions > Create > Folder.
    • To create a subfolder in another folder, click the folder > Create > Folder
  4. Enter a name and optional description for the folder

To limit access to the folder and the reports within the folder

  1. Set the owner to the user or user group which should have access.
  2. Set the Access Control to Owner/Administrator Only.
  3. Click Save.
