Supplier-added items in guided sourcing events
Feature ID

SS-24994

Feature Description

This feature allows suppliers to add additional items than what the buyer has defined, to primary and alternative bids in a guided sourcing event, or only to alternative bids. Buyers can optionally allow suppliers to submit attachments that describe lots and child items.

Customer Problem

Alternative bids are not supported in guided sourcing yet which poses a gap in parity between the old UX and guided sourcing.

Customer Value Proposition

New UX with alternative bids in guided sourcing will offer customers a better experience and improve productivity with intelligent functionality.

Applicable Solutions

SAP Ariba Sourcing
SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite

Prerequisites

Your site must have guided sourcing enabled and you must be a member of the Category Buyer group.

You must be the event owner or have project owner capabilities for the event.

To include supplier-added items in award data for SOAP web services, you must use the integration migration management utility to update data definitions for the Download RFX Awards, Download RFX Awards with Filters, and Export RFX Award web services.

For the Allow supplier-added items only in alternative bids event rule to be visible, the Allow suppliers to add items event rule must be set to Yes.

SS-11503: Alternative pricing bids for service items and lots must be enabled for participants to bid on supplier-added lots.

This feature is supported in the classic SAP Ariba Sourcing user interface and the guided sourcing user interface.

Restrictions

Suppliers can't modify bid content when the event is in Draft state.

Suppliers can't delete an item that they have submitted a bid for.

Supplier-added lots always display the extended price of the lot and bids are awarded at the lot level. Child items that are defined in read-only attachments are not enumerated.

Buyers must create Supplier Line Item and Supplier Item with Child Items or Service Hierarchy definition prototypes. If the Supplier Line Item prototype does not exist in the event template, supplier-added items use buyer-added line item definitions. If the Supplier Item with Child Items or Service Hierarchy prototype does not exist in the event template, suppliers are restricted from setting the Is this a group of items or services option to Yes, which is required for creating supplier-added lots.
