Feature Description

This feature allows template authors to lock the Access Control value they set for projects, preventing other users including project owners from changing it and giving unauthorized access to projects.

Customer Problem

Event owners mistakenly or knowingly set the Access Control on Projects 'Open' leading to control and visibility issues across a larger set of users.

Customer Value Proposition

This feature will ensure that Template Admins can lock down Access Control modifications from what is originally set by them and not allow any other user to change it.

Prerequisites

To lock the Access Control value in a template:

You must have the capability to edit the template. You can satisfy this requirement when you are a member of any of the following groups:
- The global Template Creator group
- The Template Creator group of the template project
- The Project Owner group of the template

The template must be used for classic sourcing projects, guided sourcing full projects, or contracts projects.

Restrictions

You can lock access control only for classic sourcing projects, guided sourcing full projects, or contracts projects.

After you set a lock in a template, the system locks access control only for new projects created from this template.

Access control for any previously created project is still editable, unless a template upgrade is applied to it. (Note: your site configuration might enable you to apply the new access control lock configuration to previously created contract workspaces when they are amended. Refer to About applying new project template versions with contract amendments for more information.
Access control for any folder, document, task, or event item inside new projects is still editable.
Access control for any subproject inside new projects can be editable or not, depending on its own template.
