Some customers wanted explicit control over the team buying and receiving feature. They wanted to be able to turn it off for both users and administrators.
SAP Ariba has added a new guided buying parameter named PARAM_ENABLE_TEAM_BUYING that allows customers to turn off the team buying and receiving feature. By default, this parameter is true, so team buying and receiving is turned on.
This new parameter works in conjunction with the existing PARAM_DISABLE_USER_TEAM_MANAGEMENT parameter, as shown in the following table:
Option | Description |
PARAM_ENABLE_TEAM_BUYING | Enables team buying and receiving controls. If set to true (default), guided buying displays team buying controls for administrators (Admin > Manage teams). It also considers the PARAM_DISABLE_USER_TEAM_MANAGEMENT parameter (see below). If set to false, guided buying doesn’t display any team buying and receiving controls, such as Admin > Manage teams (for administrators), or User > Manage your teams, Quick Links > Buy with a team, or the "Buy with your team" introductory pop-up window (for users). |
PARAM_DISABLE_USER_TEAM_MANAGEMENT | Determines whether users, or only administrators, can create teams for team buying and receiving. This parameter works only if the parameter PARAM_ENABLE_TEAM_BUYING is set to true (see above). If set to false (default), guided buying displays user controls for team creation, management, and membership in the User > Manage your teams page for user control of team creation, management, and membership. If set to true, guided buying removes the user controls for team creation, management, and membership in the User > Manage your teams page. Administrators can continue to create and manage teams. |
