Supplier-added items in events
Feature ID

SS-14250

Feature Description

This feature adds multiple sourcing event rules, allowing suppliers to add bid content to primary and alternative bids, or only alternative bids. The feature also provides the option for suppliers to define child items or service hierarchies through read-only attachments.

Customer Problem

Buyers create events with Service Items added based on their knowledge or requirements. There were instances where suppliers were not able to provide bids with the same service items or hierarchies and they required to make changes to the specification from the buyer. In some other cases, suppliers needed to include some essential items to complete the work but missed out by the buyer. None of those adjustments to the buyer-provided information were possible, making it cumbersome to manage those situations and preventing from capturing valuable proposals.

Customer Value Proposition

Now, suppliers have more flexibility in submitting their alternative bids on Service Items. During bidding, suppliers are able to propose a new different service hierarchy from the event content created by buyer. This additional flexibility offers more opportunities for spend optimization to Buyers and Suppliers in Service events.

Prerequisites

Customers who want to include supplier-added items in award data for SOAP web services must use the integration migration management utility to update data definitions for the Download RFX Awards, Download RFX Awards with Filters, and Export RFX Award web services.

For the Allow supplier-added items only in alternative bids event rule to be visible, the Allow suppliers to add items event rule must be set to Yes.

SS-11503: Alternative pricing bids for service items and lots must be enabled for participants to bid on supplier-added lots.

Restrictions

This feature is not supported in guided sourcing events.

Suppliers can't modify bid content when the event is in Draft state.

Suppliers can't delete an item that they have submitted a bid for.

Supplier-added lots always display the extended price of the lot and bids are awarded at the lot level. Child items that are defined in read-only attachments are not enumerated.

Buyers must create Supplier Line Item and Supplier Item with Child Items or Service Hierarchy definition prototypes. If the Supplier Line Item prototype does not exist in the event template, supplier-added items use buyer-added line item definitions. If the Supplier Item with Child Items or Service Hierarchy prototype does not exist in the event template, suppliers are restricted from setting the Is this a group of items or services option to Yes, which is required for creating supplier-added lots.
