SAP Ariba Sourcing

To be able to edit a template, you must:

• be member of the Template Creator group
• Also be a project owner of the template to be able to edit it.

Check How to allow users to create and edit project templates for more information.

You can edit a template only when it is in Draft state. Follow these steps to create and edit a new version of a template:

1. Click Manage > Templates.
2. Click on the desired template > Open.
3. (If template is Published) On the Overview tab, in the Properties section, click Actions > New Version (Use this step only for Published templates).
4. To edit a document within the project:
   1. From the Overview tab, click the document title under Document section > Edit.
   2. Make the desired changes in the document.
   3. Click Exit > Return to project.
5. Make the changes in the template.
6. Publish the template by clicking the same Actions button from step 3 > Publish.

In case you are trying to make changes in SM templates(Request, Registration, Qualification, Modular Questionnaire) follow the below step after step 6:

If you get a Pre-Publish template Validation warning page while publishing the template it is because you have made some changes in the current version. To fix the warning follow the below steps.

1. From the Overview tab, click on under Action > Edit Properties.
2. Select radio button Yes for the Skip Pre-Public Validation
3. Click Save and publish the template.

Change the Template will affect my realm Projects/Requests already created with previous version of the Template?

The answer will depend on which type of object is the template from (Sourcing Request/Project, Supplier workspaces, etc). You can find the answer on this Help Portal page, to know if the changes on the template will be replicate to your existing Sourcing objects.
